Be safe and enjoy your time off!

The holiday season is just about here, and Fairfield Community Schools are getting a jump on the season with its Sponsor-A-Fairfield Family initiative.
If your family would like to sponsor a family in need, see our registration post here:

Fliers with information will be sent home today with each student in our school corporation.

New Paris Elementary recently completed its annual food drive competition. The grade who brought in the most food items, this year being sixth grade, won a pizza party. But more importantly, all of the food and donations will help the Blessings in a Backpack as well as the Fairfield Food Pantry.
Congrats to all involved not just earning your slices, but helping our community!

You would be hard-pressed to find an activity that our LifeSkills kids at MEMS love more than their trips to Loveway.
Take a look into why they love it so much at the link below!

They run the show so we don't have to!
A hearty pat on the back today to all the bosses out there. Enjoy your day!

Fairfield Vet Careers made their way to the Bontrager Angus Cattle Farm today to some hands-on experience with the overall process that Chad and Cassie Bontrager handle in owning their farm.
Among the activities the students helped with included vaccinations, deworming and blood testing as well as watched ear tattooing - a permanent form of ID that is required for farmers - as well as practicing placing and removing halters. Dr. Hilary from the LaGrange Animal Clinic was also on hand and did pregnancy checks on all the cows, explaining what she saw on the ultrasound machine.

Benton Elementary held its Walk-A-Thon Friday morning, creating a path of worn grass around the eastern edge of the school grounds. Several stations were set up for games to break up the mundane walking, including a soccer dribbling course, wiffle ball toss and hula hoops among the parade route. The Benton Fire Department were also on hand with a smoke machine to greet walkers on the front stretch and walked with several of the classes throughout the day.

An engineer in the making? Reuben Yoder did his best to replicate the Millersburg logo during a play session in the MEMS library. How well do you think he did?

Benton Elementary held its Quarterly awards, issuing merits of success for the first quarter of the 2023-24 school year. Salute to all of those who were recognized, and a 'keep working hard' to everyone!

Eighth grade students from Fairfield took a field trip this week to Lippert Veada as part of a Manufacturing Day. This gave the students the opportunity to explore career options in manufacturing. Students rotated around hands-on stations showing them what manufacturing is all about.
Special thanks to Nancy Haines for the photo work!

Update: The Fairfield Food Pantry has a new home! It's now located just east of SR 15 on the corner of CR 142 and CR 23 in New Paris!

It was a fast week in Fairfield athletics as volleyball wrapped up its regular season, football found out its state tournament path, and the elementary schools held its mile fun run! Special thanks to Jess Trejo and friends for the art this week featuring the elementary milers!

Fairfield hosts rival Jimtown in the first round of the IHSAA Football Sectional, game set for Oct. 20.

Your kids were off school on Friday - here's why!
Our teachers were participating in what's called Response To Intervention, or RTI, where they spent the day at Fairfield Junior/Senior High School learning about the processes of RTI and how it correlates to helping our students better themselves. The RTI process fits into the overall Professional Learning Community, or PLC, which Friday was bolstered by a pair of guest speakers: Mike Mattos, who joined the teachers virtually from California, and in person by Eric Twadell, both sharing initiatives and strategies for our teachers to utilize in their own classrooms.
