Volleyball wrapped up its regular season this past week with some conference action.
Tuesday night, the Lady Falcons swept through its chief rival, Westview, with a 3-0 win in varsity and 2-0 win in JV. Lacy Stoltzfus led the JV with six kills and a block and Neila Rumfelt had 13 assists and four aces. In the nightcap, Amanda McGuire led a big defensive effort with 29 digs while Ani Schwartz and McKenna Fisher combined for 27 more digs. At the net, Eva Herbert had 11 kills and two blocks while Fisher and Alice Morrison had nine kills apiece. Maddy Miller added 27 helpers.
Thursday brought in Churubusco for the final home games of the season. Fairfield won the C team contest, 2-0, and the JV games, 2-1. Kylie Beachy had 11 digs and both Stoltzfus and Gisel Lopez finished with four kills in the JV contest. In the varsity contest, Busco ran away with a 3-0 win. Addy Piasecki and Fisher each had eight kills while Miller had 24 assists to pace the Lady Falcons, which finish 7-3 in the NECC standings.
Fairfield went 1-1 in the NECC Tournament on Saturday, losing to Fremont in the opening game and beating Hamilton in game two, but the loss to Fremont a silencer as Fremont beat Hamilton to move on from pool play. Angola would run the table and win the NECC title, its sixth straight crown to sweep the season and postseason grids.

Carson Mickem had 186 rushing yards and three total scores to lead the Lakers.
The IHSAA held its sectional draw, and Fairfield drew a home game in round one, hosting Jimtown on Oct. 20. A Fairfield win would send the Falcons to either South Bend Clay or John Glenn in round two. The other half of the bracket has Knox at Lakeland and Marian at West Noble.
