This past Saturday, MEMS Robotics Scuba Peeps competed against 48 other area teams at the FIRST LEGO League Northern Semi-State tournament in Fort Wayne.
As reported by coach Amber Gingerich, “The day started off OK, but after the second robot round, one of Harry the Robot's wheel motors gave out. The team had to scramble and completely rebuild that half of the bot (huge shout-out to Larson Miller!).
“The team then came back to achieve their highest score this year of 180 points in round three! The judges noted the team made huge improvements in their Robot Design Presentation in just two short weeks after the Concord Competition. Unfortunately, despite all the teams accomplishments, we fell short of qualifying to be one of 18 teams advancing to the state competition. But Scuba Peeps have so much to be proud of! They never gave up, showed incredible problem solving skills, and helped each other every step of the way.
“This year's team is Reagan Gingerich, Grace Lantz, Lily Sark, Hunter Szymanowski, Larson Miller, Hudson Miller, Jocelyn Godfrey, Sophie Robbins, and NPE student Silas Godfrey.”
Coaches Amber Gingerich, Nick Murphy, and assistant Myhanh Lantz were honored to lead the team this year.
Congratulations to Scuba Peeps on a great season!
