The majesty of Friday Night Football has a beauty all its own. And one of our groundskeepers is looking to show that off to the nation.
Dakota Steele has worked some magic with his gameday field creations, and most notable was his field design for Fairfield’s sectional home game against Jimtown. Steele, a former groundskeeper for the Fort Wayne TinCaps minor league baseball team, used a cross hatch V design to accent our home turf for the October contest.
Steele has entered that design into a national mowing design contest hosted by Sports Field Managers Association. Steele’s handiwork is the lone entrant from the state of Indiana, and is up against 20 other designs from amateurs all the way up to professional stadiums patterns.
Steele is asking for your vote in the contest, which is open now and runs through Monday, Nov. 20. Let’s help show off another one of Fairfield’s gems!
