Fairfield's volleyball program once again made its heart count in a big way.
The program utilized its abilities during a Pink Out Night in the regular season to raise $3,000 to donate to Cancer Resources for Elkhart County. T-shirt sales, a bake sale, boot donations during the September home game against West Noble, and several private donations helped the team hit the milestone mark.
All of the money donated to Cancer Resources for Elkhart County stays in Elkhart County to help those currently in cancer treatment.
“To hit three thousand dollars is awesome, the girls did great,” stated Peter Norton, Executive Director for Cancer Resources for Elkhart County. Norton was on hand to receive the donation check Thursday evening at Fairfield High School.
“I feel this is good for them to know that their work is being put to good use and helping people.”
Cancer Resources for Elkhart County is currently serving nearly 150 individuals in Elkhart County.
