Fairfield girls hoops kept the train rolling to start the season, winning its first home game of the season Tuesday night, 44-27.
A 13-5 second quarter by the Falcons stretched out a double-digit lead at the half.
Madison Jones had a breakout game for Fairfield, the freshman leading all scorers with 17 points on 8-10 shooting from the floor. Kaylee Dillon added 11 points and five rebounds for the Falcons.
Fairfield also won the JV game over Wawasee, 28-23.
A solid middle two quarters helped Fairfield pull away from Goshen Saturday night in a 40-24 final. After playing to a 5-5 stalemate after a quarter, Fairfield outscored Goshen 27-13 in the second and third quarters to move its record to 4-0 on the campaign.
Eva Herbert had a huge night against the RedHawks, recording 23 points, three assists and three rebounds, going 5-8 from three and 9-15 overall from the floor. Jayslynn Hall had five offensive and seven total rebounds and Natalie Whitaker did the dirty work with seven dimes, four rebounds and three steals.
Boys basketball had its middle school teams move to 3-0 on the season with wins over West Noble last Monday. The seventh grade team won 29-17 and the eighth grade team prevailed, 49-26.
