Bailey Willard has been a four-year varsity player for the Fairfield girls basketball program, and will look to parlay all that experience into another four years of hoops after committing to the University of St. Francis. Willard, a key member of the first state championship in Fairfield school history this past February, will compete to earn a spot on head coach Jeremy Henney's squad. Willard was a 10-point, three-rebound performer as a senior for coach Brodie Garber, and helped the team set over a half-dozen season and program records in the process of its state title. The All-NECC performer in basketball was also a regional qualifier in golf and is currently a captain in softball.
Willard will look to stay sharp in the classroom as well, planning on a major in physical therapy.
“I know that I have a lot of work to do this summer, and that will push me to get better,” Willard said. “Going in knowing that my spot isn't guaranteed and I'm not going to be a starter right away, that motivates me a lot.”
