Millersburg seventh grade students created robotic parade floats as part of the Tech Ed class this year.
Students first built basic robots and learned how to code the robots to be able to drive a figure-eight course and to flash different colored lights. Then the students were tasked with designing and building a "parade float" that represented their interests or the school.
Very cool stuff!
DayInTheLife - Show and Tell
Performance and the stage are just in some people's blood and fiber. One of those people born for the show is Fairfield senior Liza Weatherton, one of the leaders of two of the top show choir programs in the state. Weatherton and her crew will perform with Fusion and Expressions this weekend at ISSMA State, but there's much more to her story than just song and dance.

Benton is preparing for the Haystack Dinner that is this Thursday, March 14, from 5-7 p.m., with all proceeds going to The Window. Benton is also excited to be hosting its Art Show at the same time. Three students from Fairfield High School were recognized as part of the Pathways Program for broadcasting excellence! Kudos to Brayden Replogle, Phillip Yoder and Dylan Gill for winning state awards with the Indiana Association of School Broadcasters!

Fairfield Jr/Sr High School is proud to announce its final total raised from its Riley Night event in February.
Outstanding work done by the Fairfield Sunshine Club, the Fairfield boys basketball program, and every in the Fairfield and Central Noble communities who help put children first with Riley Hospital for Children.

Friday was a busy day at New Paris Elementary as the school celebrated Parent's Day!
Students in all grade levels hosted their parents or guests as part of a full day of activities, songs, computer games, and whatever else teachers had planned for their bigger 'new students'.
Having the opportunity to get kids to interact and be proud of their classwork, their peers and teachers in a fun setting with family is a tradition New Paris and Fairfield Community Schools, in general, is proud to maintain.

Benton's first and second graders took a step this afternoon in the musical direction, taking part in the Intro To Music program. With an audience of parents and staff members, the students did a roughly 30-minute program under the direction of music instructor Tori Shearer. On top of singing a host of songs, the students incorporated hand movements and cues from Shearer into their production. They even had an awards session, giving credit to some of the story characters from their in-class assignments.
Our LifeSkills students were on the road, stopping by The Park at Grace Community Church!
No need to elaborate, the kids had a blast at the giant indoor playground!!!
Huge shoutout to our Fairfield music director, Mykayla Roskos-Neilson, who was recognized for the ISSMA Total Department All-Music Award!
Roskos-Neilson was given the award at the Indiana Statehouse, recognizing Fairfield's overall excellence at all levels including marching band, concert, show choir and jazz.
The exclusive award is given to less than two dozen scholastic music departments from around the state. Congrats to Roskos-Neilson and her entire music department for its overall success!

Keira Johnston, center, and Lee Rodman, right, were recently invited by their teacher, Wendi Sparks, to be part of an art exhibit called "Influences”, which explores the connection between high school art teachers and their students.
All three have artwork currently on display at Arlink in Fort Wayne until March 10.
Several other regional art educators and their students have work on display as well.
New Paris Elementary School hosted Smile America Partners of Indiana on Monday for its no-cost dental visit. Smile America Partners is a mobile dental service that visits schools and care facilities all over the state, offering free dental cleanings and minor repair work to children. The traveling group visits elementary schools and the Fairfield school district had several of its New Paris students take advantage of the services.

Today we completed a district wide LOCKDOWN drill. This drill was intentionally held during a busy time in our day. In the past, we have chosen to do drills during what would be the best-case scenario. Though this type is the easiest, we all know that emergencies rarely happen when we are expecting them.
As we work to improve our training and procedures for school safety, we will continue to challenge ourselves in new ways so that we can be better prepared for any situations that we may encounter. In the future, we will complete our LOCKDOWN drills with no prior notice just as we do with our other drills.
