Washington, D.C. – Fairfield High School has been ranked No. 40 in the state of Indiana and No. 1 in Elkhart County among the 2024 Best High Schools by U.S. News & World Report. The rankings evaluate nearly 18,000 schools at the national, state and local level.

The school was also ranked within the top 2,500 schools nationwide in the overall ranking process. Fairfield is ranked among over 400 Indiana high schools, including charter, magnet and STEM institutions.

“Receiving this academic honor is a testament to the dedication, hard work, and excellence of our students, teachers, and staff,” stated Dr. Carrie Cannon, superintendent for Fairfield Community Schools. “This achievement reflects our commitment to providing quality education and fostering a community of lifelong learners here at Fairfield Community Schools! I am extremely proud of our Fairfield staff and students in receiving this remarkable accomplishment.”

The methodology focuses on six factors: college readiness; reading, math and science proficiency; reading, math and science performance; underserved student performance; college curriculum breadth; and graduation rates.

Fairfield Senior High School, which opened in 1963, is home to 560 students in grades 9-12, situated in Goshen, Indiana, in southeastern Elkhart County.
