Fairfield Community Schools election/reorganization plan as well as school board policy requires that each of the three townships comprising the school district have one resident elected to the school board. That plan also prohibits more than two residents from the same township being elected. All registered voters in the district, vote for candidates from all townships.
There is no “At Large” position and the election districts are named by the townships, not by any numbering or other naming system.
There are currently two board members from Clinton Township who are not up for election this election cycle. Consequently, no Clinton resident will be able to be elected to the school board during the November, 2024 election; however, Clinton Township residents will vote for candidates of the other townships.
